About Us

Pastor Danny C. Nguyen started Hosanna Christian Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

His journey to becoming a pastor wasn’t easy. In college, Danny struggled with depression, low self-esteem, and questions about who he really was. He felt alone and didn’t know where to turn for help. Money was tight—financial aid only covered tuition, so he had to figure out how to pay for housing and food. For weeks, sometimes months, he survived on instant noodles. To earn extra cash, he worked as a security guard at Penn State, but juggling work and school was exhausting.

In the middle of all this, Danny turned to God. He prayed and asked for help—and God answered. Danny realized who he was in Christ: God’s child, deeply loved. God provided the money he needed and helped him focus on school without working extra jobs. That experience changed him and gave him a sense of purpose.

After college, Danny had a good job, a wife, and a son, but something still felt missing. Even serving in church and singing on the worship team didn’t fill the emptiness. Everything changed when he went to a conference in California and felt the power of the Holy Spirit. In that moment, he remembered the calling God gave him when he was 13—to serve His Kingdom. This time, Danny said “yes.”

To prepare, he started taking Bible classes and planted Hosanna Christian Center. His vision was to create a safe place for young people to share their struggles, support each other, and grow in faith.

Hosanna Christian Center became a lifeline for students who were close to dropping out of school. With guidance and encouragement, many stayed in school and graduated. Danny’s story shows his passion for helping others find hope and purpose through faith.

Today, Pastor Danny and his wife have been married for over 24 years and have two sons, Ethan and Elias.
